Ruskin Bond (b.1934) is one of India’s best-known writers. Born in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, he now lives in Mussoorie. His first novel The Room On The Roof, published when he was 21, was partly based on his own experiences in Deharadun. He has written many stories.
